PLC programming and HMI

New logic, or changes to logic already running. Operator screens written in plain language, with alarms that say what to do rather than showing a code.

SCADA and data logging

One screen for the whole floor, with production, downtime and alarm history stored so a report can be pulled for any shift or any month.

Drives and soft starters

Sizing, installation and parameter setting for motors, fans, pumps and conveyors, including harmonic and cable-length considerations on long runs.

Control panel design and build

Drawings, enclosure, busbar, wiring and routine testing in our workshop before anything reaches your site.

Instrumentation and calibration

Sensors and transmitters selected, installed, loop-checked and calibrated, with traceable records you can put in front of an auditor.

Technical specifications

The range we design and build within. If your requirement sits outside it, say so at enquiry stage and we will tell you honestly whether it is our work or somebody else's.

Supply and rating

415 V three-phase and 230 V single-phase, 50 Hz. Busbar assemblies to 4000 A, with short-circuit withstand specified per project.

Enclosures

Wall-mount, floor-standing and modular line-ups in 1.6 to 2.0 mm powder-coated sheet steel. IP42 to IP66 depending on the room; stainless steel where washdown or chemical vapour is present.

Controllers

Compact and modular PLCs from eight I/O points to distributed systems of several thousand. Safety-rated controllers where a risk assessment calls for them.

Operator interface

Touch panels from 4 to 21 inches, and industrial PCs for larger displays. Screens in Bangla, English or both, switchable by the operator.

SCADA

Single-station through to multi-client systems, with historian, trend recording, shift and batch reports, user roles and an audit trail of who changed what.

Communication

Modbus RTU and TCP, Profibus DP, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, CANopen, IO-Link and OPC UA. Existing machines are usually reachable on at least one of these.

Drives

Variable frequency drives from 0.37 kW to 400 kW, soft starters, and multi-drive line-ups on a common DC bus where regenerative loads justify it.

Instrumentation

4 to 20 mA and HART loops, RTD and thermocouple temperature, pressure, level, flow, pH, conductivity, load cells and weighing.

Remote access

VPN or cellular gateway behind a firewall, set to read-only or full access according to your IT policy, and switchable off from the panel.

Documentation issued

Single-line and wiring drawings in AutoCAD and PDF, I/O schedule, cable schedule, signed routine test report, operation and maintenance manual, and a backup of every program file.

Where the savings actually come from

Automation is often sold on an energy promise. Three mechanisms do most of the real work, and each one only applies in particular conditions.

Speed control on fans and pumps

For centrifugal loads, power rises roughly with the cube of speed. Running a fan at 80 per cent speed instead of throttling a damper draws close to half the power. This is the largest single saving available in most plants — but only on loads that genuinely vary. A motor at full load all day saves nothing.

Power factor correction

Correcting power factor removes the utility penalty, and it also lowers current in the same cables. That means less heating, less voltage drop at the far end of a long run, and spare capacity recovered on a transformer that felt full.

Idle time nobody is watching

Compressors, exhaust fans, chillers and lighting often run through breaks, changeovers and the last hour before a shutdown. Interlocking them to the machine that actually needs them costs very little and gives back hours every week.

We measure before we recommend

Where the saving is not obvious, we log current and run hours on the actual load for several days first. If the numbers do not support the investment, we will tell you that rather than sell you a drive.

The shapes of work that reach us

Dyeing machine retrofit

Vessel and heating kept, control replaced.

  • Roughly 16 temperature, level and pressure loops

ETP automation

Discharge that stands up to an inspection.

Compressor room control

Plant survey

We walk your floor, list the machines and loads, photograph the existing panels, and find out what is actually breaking rather than what was reported.

Scope and drawings

Single-line diagram, I/O schedule, panel general arrangement and a written scope, so the quotation states what you receive rather than a lump sum.

Panel build

Enclosure, busbar, components and wiring assembled in our workshop, then routine tested and photographed before it ships.

Programming

PLC logic, HMI screens and drive parameters written against the agreed scope and simulated before anyone reaches site.

Commissioning

Installation, loop checks, trial runs on your own product, and training for the operators and maintenance staff who will live with it.

Handover and support

The full document set, a backup of every program file, a spare parts list, and a maintenance contract if you want one.

Terms, in plain language

Quotations in this field are full of abbreviations. Here is what they mean, so nobody can use them to make a simple job sound complicated.

PLC

Programmable logic controller — the industrial computer that decides what the machine does, written as logic rather than software code.

HMI

Human machine interface — the touch screen on the panel door where the operator sets values and reads alarms.

SCADA

The computer system that watches many machines at once, stores the history, and produces reports. An HMI shows one machine; SCADA shows the floor.

VFD

Variable frequency drive — changes the speed of an AC motor instead of running it flat out and throttling the output.

Soft starter

Brings a motor up to speed gradually to avoid the mechanical shock and current surge of a direct start. It does not control speed afterwards.

PFI

Power factor improvement — capacitors that correct the lag between voltage and current, removing the utility penalty and freeing capacity.

ATS

Automatic transfer switch — moves the load between mains and generator by itself, in a controlled sequence.

I/O

Inputs and outputs — the count of signals in and out of the controller. It is the honest measure of how large a control job really is.

IP rating

Two digits stating how well an enclosure keeps out solids and water. IP54 handles dust and splashes; IP65 and above handles washdown.

Interlock

A condition that must be true before something is allowed to start — a guard closed, a valve open, an upstream machine already running.

Retrofit

Keeping the mechanical machine and replacing only its control, which is usually a fraction of the cost of importing a replacement.

As-built drawing

The drawing corrected after installation to show what is genuinely there. Without it, the next fault takes twice as long to find.

Questions we get asked

Do you charge for the first visit?

No, not inside Dhaka and the nearby industrial belts. We come, look at the machines, and tell you what the options are. Outside that area we ask for travel cost only.

Can you work on a machine another company installed?

Yes, and much of our work is exactly that. If the original program is locked or missing, we tell you honestly what can be recovered and what must be rewritten before you spend anything.

How long does a control panel take?

A straightforward drive or pump panel is usually two to three weeks from approved drawing. A PLC panel with programming runs four to six weeks. Imported components are the usual reason a date slips, and we identify those items at quotation stage.

Will my operators be able to use it?

That is a design decision, not an afterthought. HMI screens can be written in Bangla, alarms say what to do rather than showing a code, and we train the operators and maintenance staff on site before handover.

Is a VFD really worth it on my motors?

Sometimes, not always. It pays back fastest on fans and pumps that run part-loaded for long hours, and it saves almost nothing on a motor that runs at full load all day. We measure before recommending, and we will say so when the answer is no.

What warranty do you give?

One year on our workmanship and wiring from the date of commissioning. Components carry the manufacturer warranty, and we register them in your name so the claim is yours to make.

Can you work during our shutdown only?

Yes. Most retrofit work is planned around a Friday or a scheduled shutdown, with as much as possible built and tested in our workshop first so the time on site is short.

Who owns the program when the job is done?

You do. The PLC and HMI project files, the passwords and the as-built drawings are handed over as part of the final payment, not held back as leverage for future service work.
